Self improvement: Working on yourself

self improvementLet’s talk about self-improvement. One of the highest causes for failure is thinking that you have arrived. This condition is otherwise known as getting complacent. People get a taste of success and then just relax after. Dude wake up! the world is passing you by. This statement can be said about persons who graduated college and believe they have learned all they need to know. This statement is also true of entrepreneurs who believe that they have all the information in their industry.

Never stop learning. The world has become a super competitive arena. From academics to business if you are not working on you, you’re not successful. Nothing in life remains stagnant in fact it can be said that change is the only constant in this world. Time rearranges values and facts .When this happens, what was true in the past becomes obsolete in the present and irrelevant in the future. Stay alert, be on the lookout for ways to improve your skills.

Did you ever meet someone who kept doing the same thing in their business?  Did they keep trying the same strategy over and over wasting precious time and money? As said by the famous scientist Albert Einstein: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the formula for insanity.

Things you can do for self-improvement

If you are unemployed (trust me I’ve been there),  try starting a business or developing some new skill that may be profitable in the future. Take up writing for instance. You don’t need much for that, all you need is a book, a pen, and your imagination. Who knows you could be a best selling author, you could publish your books to platforms like amazon kindle, Barnes and noble etc. learn some marketing and start making sales.
You can start a fitness channel on YouTube and inspire people to work out. Change your mindset, we have been biologically programmed to believe that once we leave college or university or whatever institution that we are entitled to a job. How is that possible if we don’t have enough businesses? Why not create one why not create something to give to the world to make it a better place.
You can take up freelancing. Websites like Fiverr and Upwork are there waiting for your unique skills and characteristics. If you need to learn something google it! Want to see how something works? YouTube it! there is so much information out there and so many resources within your grasp. All you have to do is reach out and take it.Remember for you to succeed all you have to do is focus and blot out the noise and distractions.

P.S. The key to self-improvement lies in your mindset. you are what you think. think in terms of self-improvement and self-development and cultivate habits that will help you achieve this outcome.
