Self-Development: Working on yourself

self-developmentSelf-Development and improving yourself should be an ongoing process . The surest way to fail in life is to stay the same. Everything around you is moving nothing stays the same, complacency robs you of the ability to grow. If you look at history you can do your research you will notice that everyone who has failed or who lives in poverty has one thing in common they don’t change, whether it’s changing their way of thinking or Changing their environment. Don’t sit back and expect life to just get better it will only if you let it. Innovation is the name of the game today and things are moving soo fast. Never stop working on yourself, always think of yourself as a work in progress and you can see with this mindset no matter what happens you will be alright. What you once considered as a failure becomes a setback and instead of wallowing in your own self-pity, you grab the reigns of life and you become the master of your destiny.
Understanding that there is always the next level to life raises your standards, you become hopeful and positive and you are ready to Take on the world. Continuously developing yourself opens up opportunities for you that you would never have before because you have acquired new skills and new talents. If you look at the poor person or the individual who considers himself a failure the only difference is that he refuses to learn and in the jungle you have to learn, you have to learn to survive Because make no mistake the world is a jungle and in order to navigate to safe territory you have to develop your skills.

Self-improvement should make you happy. No one likes watching a movie over and over and over again (unless you are the director in which case that is your job) I’m sure you don’t like doing the same thing over and over again it is boring and annoying, change is exciting it is refreshing and it is a continuous journey. Never stop growing, never stop innovating, never stop developing. You owe it to yourself to be the best version of yourself.

Another way to achieve self-development is reading. How often do you read?you should read at least one book a week or listen to one audiobook a week. Reading broadens your mind, think of your mind like a smartphone; what happens to it every day? your smartphone updates and usually this improves operations on the phone. Reading is like updating your brain, facts are always changing. If you rely on information that is outdated and irrelevant, your chances of success are low. This is why people who are successful are constantly reading, they are constantly upgrading their software (their brain) and this allows them to develop themselves and create a better quality of life for themselves and those around them.
What do you do for self-development? Are you committed to learning something new every day? Leave a comment I would love to hear from you. Until my next post, stay focused and  stay motivated.
