back painYour back is the cor­ner­stone of your body it’s the thing that gives our bod­ies structure,back pain is nor­mal for almost every­body espe­cial­ly if you sit at a desk all day star­ing at a screen and crunch­ing numbers(ain’t that the truth) . Start tak­ing notice of your back pains and aches from ear­ly this will lead to you hav­ing a stronger back in your lat­er years(why is it so hard to sit prop­er­ly?) . So you may be ask­ing the ques­tion why do we get back pain? We typ­i­cal­ly get back pain in the low­er regions of our backs because it bears the major­i­ty of our tor­sos weight,this is why you should be very care­ful when lift­ing weights or heavy equip­ment as these put heavy strain on your back and wear out your discs (discs are those cir­cu­lar things in your spinal col­umn that helps to hold your back togeth­er. Now you under­stand why you should Always lift with your legs because this trans­fers most of the weight to your legs result­ing in less dam­age.

One of the major caus­es of back pain is poor pos­ture which per­son­al­ly I’m real­ly guilty of most times. You know when you’re in front of the com­put­er and it just feels bet­ter to slide down in the chair?  I know exact­ly how tempt­ing that can be I have to be con­stant­ly remind­ing myself to sit up and try to keep a good pos­ture which is annoy­ing when the chair you are sit­ting in isn’t real­ly that ergonom­ic. Oth­er caus­es of back pain are arthri­tis and poor exer­cise prac­tices, learn how to lift prop­er­ly your back depends on it. When deal­ing with back pain it is best to try a pre­ven­ta­tive mea­sure like prac­tic­ing good pos­ture but if you are already suf­fer­ing from back pain here are a few reme­dies:

mas­sag­ing, this depends on the lev­el of pain, you can get a good mas­sage to relieve pain. I find that hot ice usu­al­ly does won­ders for my back aches. If you are deal­ing with some­thing more seri­ous like a her­ni­at­ed disc you may need to speak with your chi­ro­prac­tor. Prac­tice good exer­cise tech­niques and don’t overex­ert your­self espe­cial­ly when per­form­ing back exer­cis­es. Be care­ful because some back injuries can be severe.
