5 Tips to reprogram your mind

mindHi guys, Thank god it’s another Monday and we are alive and well. Do you know that every day you are programming your mind? or should I say your mind is being programmed? When you watch TV or listen to the radio you are being influenced. Other person’s beliefs and opinions are being put out there for you to accept or reject. Ensure that what you are putting into your brain is accurate. The reason why this is so critical is because our beliefs determine where we end up in life.

When a child grows up in poverty and is surrounded by people with a poverty mindset he has little hope of escaping the poverty cycle. Only by deliberately programming his mind for success will he be able to break free. Take time out of your day to deliberately program your mind. Whether it’s listening to a motivational audiobook or watching a motivational video. I recommend reading the book: think and grow rich by Napolean hill. This book is a great read and has helped thousands of people to change their mindset.

There are many people who have turned their lives around. They did this by taking control of their minds.Be proactive take control of your life, don’t let your situation determine how you think. you have the power within you to become what you want to become.

Tips to reprogramming the mind.

Reading

I don’t know anyone who is successful who doesn’t read that is a major clue. If you want to change your mindset you have to read. When you read, you expose your mind to other ideas and views of people. Read motivational articles. Read about the struggles that the most successful people had to go through. When we see people who are successful our minds tend to ignore all the struggles that they went through.

There are people who have been homeless for most of their lives before they received success. James Cameron the director of the Terminator and other highly acclaimed movies was homeless. Les Brown one of the best motivational speakers used to be homeless. Let their stories strengthen your mindset. When I feel down I read some of their stories and it really makes me feel like my life could be worst. That’s what reading does.  Let’s say you were diagnosed with diabetes and as far as you were concerned that was a death sentence. Then you read about a guy who has survived for the last 20 years with diabetes? your mindset would change!

I recommend reading at least one book per month to feed your mind, in all you should be reading and average of 12 books per year.

Listening

What we listen has a considerable influence on us. Have you ever hated a song so much but heard it played everywhere, then you catch yourself humming the very tune of that song? what’s happening? We are influenced by audio every day of our lives. This is why it is critical that you choose what you listen to carefully.

Here’s a story; A mother has a child that she constantly tells that he is a good for nothing and that he is worthless. After a period of time he believes it so strongly that he begins to misbehave and starts to get into trouble at school. As a full grown man, he ends up becoming a criminal. I’ve said it before your mind is a biological computer. A computer doesn’t care what information you feed it. It just acts upon the information you feed it.

Listen to positive affirmations and audio every day, you will slowly notice how your mindset changes for the better.

Watching

Do you watch movies that just leave you feeling disturbed? Do you find yourself watching movies such as human centipede and other useless garbage that does absolutely nothing to feed your mind? Then stop and assess what you watch. If you get up every day and the first thing you watch is a fail video on youtube or news of some criminal activity you are putting your mind in a negative state.

Think of your mind like your body. Eating junk food might taste good but you will notice how unfit you become when you do this. When you watch these videos you are making yourself mentally unfit. Ensure that the videos you watch are providing some value for your life because that’s time you will never get back.

Watch at least one motivational video ever day. Do this task in the morning before you start your day.

Taking action

Taking action on anything is probably the simplest things to do. So why do a majority os person’s including me find it hard to do this? I believe I have the answer. If you observe yourself you will notice that you are more likely to take action after feeling motivated and positive. This is why you need to build up to this. Taking action is the physical manifestation of what you read, listen and watch.

When you take action, whether you get results or not it influences your mind. If you get good results it strengthens your resolve, it improves your confidence in your abilities. If you get bad results it may discourage you from taking action in the future. However if you have fortified your mind by reading, listening and watching positive people you will have a strong mindset.

Take action towards your goals ever day. It doesn’t matter how small make progress towards your goal. After a time it will build your momentum until taking action becomes natural.

Repetition

Repetition is important to the mind. When you study you have to practice repeatedly in order to memorize what you are studying. When you go to the gym you have to exercise repeatedly and consistently to get desired results.

Repeat the previous tips every single day. What you will realize is that your mindset is going to change from negative to positive.
